Cather on the wind

Since we are in Cather country and the wind is strong and warm:
... the wind sprang up afresh, with a kind of bitter song, as if it said: "This is reality, whether you like it or not. All those frivolities of summer, the light and shadow, the living mask of green that trembled over everything, they were lies, and this is what was underneath. This is the truth." It was as if we were being punished for loving the loveliness of summer.
Willa Cather, My Ántonia

We are scheduled to leave Sunday if the predicted blizzard doesn't come in.

Regarding her comment "I don't know what it is", concerning protections for transgender people, she apparently has forgotten as she voted against them a number of times.
From my own perspective, we went to the demonstration at the court house and marched to the building where the town hall was held. Since my studio is in that same building, I helped out by directing traffic.
It should be noted that the original room has a capacity of 160. Over 500 people attended. It should also be noted that the date was chosen to coincide with the university spring break.
The county Democratic party chair is the guy who maintains and repairs our car. He was hoping for a civil discourse. He is very disappointed.
